Spain: visa decisions in Singapore
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 3,454 | 3,291 | 112 | 3.3% | 5.0% |
| 2024 | 4,226 | 4,017 | 176 | 4.2% | 15.7% |
| 2025 | 4,660 | 4,377 | 195 | 4.3% | 7.8% |
In 2025, Spain’s embassy and consulates in Singapore (Singapore) received 4,660 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 4,377. 4.3% of applications were refused. In 2024 the rate was much the same, 4.2%. Applications rose by 10% compared with 2024 (4,226).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.1% of the applications lodged in Singapore that year, from 0.4% at the consulates of Belgium to 10.3% at those of the Netherlands. Spain’s consulates worldwide refused 14.6%. Spain was the 3rd most applied-for Schengen state in Singapore.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Singapore, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
