Netherlands: visa decisions in Singapore
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 2,544 | 2,324 | 171 | 6.9% | 55.8% |
| 2024 | 2,672 | 2,468 | 135 | 5.2% | 53.6% |
| 2025 | 2,721 | 2,419 | 279 | 10.3% | 44.5% |
In 2025, the Netherlands’ embassy and consulates in Singapore (Singapore) received 2,721 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 2,419. 10.3% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 5.2%: the rate rose by 5.2 points, a sharp increase. The number of applications was almost unchanged (2,672 in 2024).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.1% of the applications lodged in Singapore that year. the Netherlands’ consulates worldwide refused 17.7%. The Netherlands was the 7th most applied-for Schengen state in Singapore.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Singapore, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
