Belgium: visa decisions in Singapore
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 672 | 645 | 27 | 4.0% | 52.2% |
| 2024 | 732 | 714 | 9 | 1.2% | 62.0% |
| 2025 | 730 | 717 | 3 | 0.4% | 63.2% |
In 2025, Belgium’s embassy and consulates in Singapore (Singapore) received 730 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 717. The refusal rate was 0.4%. That is barely different from 2024 (1.2%). The number of applications was almost unchanged (732 in 2024).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.1% of the applications lodged in Singapore that year. Belgium’s consulates worldwide refused 26.1%. Belgium was the 10th most applied-for Schengen state in Singapore.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Singapore, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
