Finland: visa decisions in Serbia

2024 71601317.8% 46.7%
2025 979011.1% 58.9%

In 2025, Finland’s embassy and consulates in Serbia (Belgrade) received 97 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 90. 1.1% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 17.8%: the rate fell by 16.7 points, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications rose by 37% compared with 2024 (71).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.7% of the applications lodged in Serbia that year, from 1.1% at the consulates of Greece to 16.9% at those of Croatia. Finland’s consulates worldwide refused 13.4%. Finland was the 18th most applied-for Schengen state in Serbia.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Serbia, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
