YearApplicationsVisas issuedRefusedRefusal rateMultiple-entry share
2023 11,71811,2304884.2% 73.6%
2024 13,75313,0517025.1% 82.8%
2025 16,00115,3176834.3% 87.5%

In 2025, Switzerland’s embassy and consulates in the Philippines (Manila) received 16,001 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 15,317. The refusal rate was 4.3%. That is barely different from 2024 (5.1%). Applications rose by 16% compared with 2024 (13,753).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 6.9% of the applications lodged in the Philippines that year, from 3.8% at the consulates of the Netherlands to 22.3% at those of the Czech Republic. Switzerland’s consulates worldwide refused 12.5%. Switzerland was the 7th most applied-for Schengen state in the Philippines.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in the Philippines, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
