In 2025, Hungary’s embassy and consulates in the Philippines (Manila) received 1,551 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 1,367. The refusal rate was 9.9%. The refusal rate fell by 2.0 points from 11.9% in 2024. The number of applications was almost unchanged (1,575 in 2024).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 6.9% of the applications lodged in the Philippines that year, from 3.8% at the consulates of the Netherlands to 22.3% at those of the Czech Republic. Hungary’s consulates worldwide refused 13.0%. Hungary was the 13th most applied-for Schengen state in the Philippines.
