Finland: visa decisions in Peru

2023 635535.1% 47.3%
2024 303000.0% 46.7%
2025 302626.7% 26.9%

In 2025, Finland’s embassy and consulates in Peru (Lima) received 30 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 26. 6.7% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 0.0%: the rate rose by 6.7 points, a sharp increase. The number of applications was almost unchanged (30 in 2024).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 16.9% of the applications lodged in Peru that year. Finland’s consulates worldwide refused 13.4%. Finland was the 11th most applied-for Schengen state in Peru.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Peru, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
