Denmark: visa decisions in Mexico
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 50 | 35 | 15 | 30.0% | 45.7% |
| 2024 | 59 | 40 | 14 | 25.9% | 37.5% |
| 2025 | 29 | 22 | 4 | 15.4% | 31.8% |
In 2025, Denmark’s embassy and consulates in Mexico (Mexico City) received 29 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 22. 15.4% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 25.9%: the rate fell by 10.5 points, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications fell by 51% compared with 2024 (59).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 5.5% of the applications lodged in Mexico that year, from 3.3% at the consulates of Spain to 9.8% at those of France. Denmark’s consulates worldwide refused 21.9%. Denmark was the 11th most applied-for Schengen state in Mexico.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Mexico, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
