2023 3,8123,6091995.2% 26.9%
2024 3,8153,6231874.9% 24.9%
2025 3,6263,4861393.8% 27.4%

In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Kazakhstan (Almaty and Astana) received 3,626 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 3,486. The refusal rate was 3.8%. That is barely different from 2024 (4.9%). Applications fell by 5% compared with 2024 (3,815).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 9.1% of the applications lodged in Kazakhstan that year, from 1.6% at the consulates of Romania to 20.5% at those of Finland. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 12th most applied-for Schengen state in Kazakhstan.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Kazakhstan, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
