Spain: visa decisions in Jordan

YearApplicationsVisas issuedRefusedRefusal rateMultiple-entry share
2023 8,0966,2591,40918.0% 11.5%
2024 8,9597,6271,00911.5% 11.7%
2025 8,8027,3787969.5% 12.5%

In 2025, Spain’s embassy and consulates in Jordan (Amman) received 8,802 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 7,378. The refusal rate was 9.5%. The refusal rate fell by 2.0 points from 11.5% in 2024. The number of applications was almost unchanged (8,959 in 2024).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 21.4% of the applications lodged in Jordan that year, from 5.4% at the consulates of Romania to 52.0% at those of Norway. Spain’s consulates worldwide refused 14.6%. Spain was the 3rd most applied-for Schengen state in Jordan.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Jordan, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
