2023 4,6893,73095920.4% 47.6%
2024 2,8462,48236412.8% 62.8%
2025 4,1263,36973817.9% 47.2%

In 2025, Hungary’s embassy and consulates in Jordan (Amman) received 4,126 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 3,369. 17.9% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 12.8%: the rate rose by 5.2 points, a sharp increase. Applications rose by 45% compared with 2024 (2,846).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 21.4% of the applications lodged in Jordan that year, from 5.4% at the consulates of Romania to 52.0% at those of Norway. Hungary’s consulates worldwide refused 13.0%. Hungary was the 8th most applied-for Schengen state in Jordan.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Jordan, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
