Switzerland: visa decisions in Israel
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 347 | 323 | 24 | 6.9% | 94.1% |
| 2024 | 299 | 271 | 28 | 9.4% | 99.6% |
| 2025 | 232 | 214 | 18 | 7.8% | 99.1% |
In 2025, Switzerland’s embassy and consulates in Israel (Tel Aviv) received 232 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 214. 7.8% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 9.4%: the rate fell by 1.6 points. Applications fell by 22% compared with 2024 (299).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 18.5% of the applications lodged in Israel that year, from 2.1% at the consulates of Germany to 29.0% at those of Spain. Switzerland’s consulates worldwide refused 12.5%. Switzerland was the 13th most applied-for Schengen state in Israel.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Israel, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
