Netherlands: visa decisions in Israel

In 2025, the Netherlands’ embassy and consulates in Israel (Tel Aviv) received 127 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 103. The refusal rate was 14.0%. The refusal rate fell by 3.3 points from 17.4% in 2024. Applications fell by 36% compared with 2024 (199).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 18.5% of the applications lodged in Israel that year, from 2.1% at the consulates of Germany to 29.0% at those of Spain. the Netherlands’ consulates worldwide refused 17.7%. The Netherlands was the 16th most applied-for Schengen state in Israel.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Israel, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
