Slovenia: visa decisions in India

2023 2,8271,80499135.5% 88.3%
2024 2,7871,3671,41350.8% 89.8%
2025 3,9102,0751,80346.5% 84.5%

In 2025, Slovenia’s embassy and consulates in India (New Delhi) received 3,910 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 2,075. The refusal rate was 46.5%. The refusal rate fell by 4.3 points from 50.8% in 2024. Applications rose by 40% compared with 2024 (2,787).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 15.8% of the applications lodged in India that year. Slovenia’s consulates worldwide refused 21.4%. Slovenia was the 20th most applied-for Schengen state in India.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in India, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
