Poland: visa decisions in India
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 11,954 | 9,648 | 2,288 | 19.2% | 24.8% |
| 2024 | 11,886 | 9,614 | 2,260 | 19.0% | 21.0% |
| 2025 | 9,673 | 8,022 | 1,640 | 17.0% | 19.3% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in India (Mumbai and New Delhi) received 9,673 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 8,022. The refusal rate was 17.0%. The refusal rate fell by 2.1 points from 19.0% in 2024. Applications fell by 19% compared with 2024 (11,886).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 15.8% of the applications lodged in India that year, from 7.1% at the consulates of Denmark to 46.5% at those of Slovenia. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 18th most applied-for Schengen state in India.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in India, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
