Estonia: visa decisions in India

2023 1,81789890450.0% 34.9%
2024 1,5691,12044328.2% 28.3%
2025 1,7061,19351329.7% 25.6%

In 2025, Estonia’s embassy and consulates in India (New Delhi) received 1,706 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 1,193. The refusal rate was 29.7%. That is barely different from 2024 (28.2%). Applications rose by 9% compared with 2024 (1,569).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 15.8% of the applications lodged in India that year, from 7.1% at the consulates of Denmark to 46.5% at those of Slovenia. Estonia’s consulates worldwide refused 24.6%. Estonia was the 25th most applied-for Schengen state in India.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in India, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
