In fiscal year 2025 (October 2024 to September 2025) the United States issued 6,433 nonimmigrant visas to citizens of Haiti, the 103rd highest number of the 206 nationalities listed. Visitor visas (B1/B2) made up 82%, diplomatic and official visas 8% and fiancé(e) visas 4%. That is 19% fewer than in fiscal year 2024 (7,939).
From October 2025 to February 2026, citizens of Haiti received 171, 96% fewer than in the same months a year earlier.
For visitor visas (B1/B2) the State Department reports an adjusted refusal rate of 50.3% for citizens of Haiti in fiscal year 2025 (fiscal year 2024: 47.4%). The adjusted rate counts a refusal that was later overcome, for example with further documents, as an issuance. A rate below 3% is one of the conditions for a country to join the Visa Waiver Program.
