Latvia: visa decisions in Georgia

2024 415365266.3% 78.6%
2025 6605897010.6% 65.4%

In 2025, Latvia’s embassy and consulates in Georgia (Tbilisi) received 660 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 589. 10.6% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 6.3%: the rate rose by 4.3 points. Applications rose by 59% compared with 2024 (415).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 13.8% of the applications lodged in Georgia that year, from 3.1% at the consulates of the Netherlands to 33.9% at those of Italy. Latvia’s consulates worldwide refused 12.3%. Latvia was the 5th most applied-for Schengen state in Georgia.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Georgia, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
