In fiscal year 2025 (October 2024 to September 2025) the United States issued 4,113 nonimmigrant visas to citizens of Finland, the 113th highest number of the 206 nationalities listed. Diplomatic and official visas (A, G) made up 24%, work and treaty visas 23% and visitor visas 17%. That is 12% fewer than in fiscal year 2024 (4,676).
From October 2025 to February 2026, citizens of Finland received 1,362, 10% fewer than in the same months a year earlier.
For visitor visas (B1/B2) the State Department reports an adjusted refusal rate of 18.1% for citizens of Finland in fiscal year 2025 (fiscal year 2024: 14.5%). The adjusted rate counts a refusal that was later overcome, for example with further documents, as an issuance. A rate below 3% is one of the conditions for a country to join the Visa Waiver Program.
These figures count visas issued to citizens of Finland anywhere in the world, not only at the US missions in Finland.
