Poland: visa decisions in Cuba
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 248 | 200 | 48 | 19.4% | 18.5% |
| 2024 | 214 | 179 | 35 | 16.4% | 25.7% |
| 2025 | 173 | 125 | 48 | 27.4% | 17.6% |
In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Cuba (Havana) received 173 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 125. 27.4% of applications were refused. In 2024 it had been 16.4%: the rate rose by 11.1 points, a sharp increase. Applications fell by 19% compared with 2024 (214).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 21.8% of the applications lodged in Cuba that year, from 11.6% at the consulates of Spain to 42.9% at those of Germany. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 16th most applied-for Schengen state in Cuba.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Cuba, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
