Slovenia: visa decisions in China
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 2,289 | 1,804 | 301 | 13.3% | 62.6% |
| 2024 | 2,972 | 2,374 | 577 | 19.5% | 84.1% |
| 2025 | 2,547 | 2,038 | 393 | 15.5% | 73.1% |
In 2025, Slovenia’s embassy and consulates in China (Beijing) received 2,547 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 2,038. The refusal rate was 15.5%. The refusal rate fell by 4.0 points from 19.5% in 2024. Applications fell by 14% compared with 2024 (2,972).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 4.0% of the applications lodged in China that year, from 1.3% at the consulates of Luxembourg to 19.3% at those of Malta. Slovenia’s consulates worldwide refused 21.4%. Slovenia was the 22nd most applied-for Schengen state in China.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in China, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
