Croatia: visa decisions in China

YearApplicationsVisas issuedRefusedRefusal rateMultiple-entry share
2023 4,4474,0843397.6% 55.0%
2024 8,1257,8382352.9% 64.4%
2025 10,0309,7461861.9% 84.3%

In 2025, Croatia’s embassy and consulates in China (Beijing) received 10,030 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 9,746. The refusal rate was 1.9%. That is barely different from 2024 (2.9%). Applications rose by 23% compared with 2024 (8,125).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 4.0% of the applications lodged in China that year, from 1.3% at the consulates of Luxembourg to 19.3% at those of Malta. Croatia’s consulates worldwide refused 18.5%. Croatia was the 19th most applied-for Schengen state in China.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in China, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
