In 2025, Estonia’s embassy and consulates in Canada (Ottawa) received 155 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 107. 30.8% of applications were refused. In 2024 the rate was much the same, 30.4%. Applications fell by 35% compared with 2024 (237).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 9.0% of the applications lodged in Canada that year, from 1.6% at the consulates of Greece to 23.7% at those of Portugal. Estonia’s consulates worldwide refused 24.6%. Estonia was the 17th most applied-for Schengen state in Canada.
