Poland: visa decisions in Belarus

2024 23,58720,9522,58111.0% 80.6%
2025 20,81219,9458644.1% 81.6%

In 2025, Poland’s embassy and consulates in Belarus (Minsk, Hrodna and Brest) received 20,812 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 19,945. The refusal rate was 4.1%. The refusal rate fell by 6.8 points from 11.0% in 2024, a clear improvement for applicants. Applications fell by 12% compared with 2024 (23,587).

For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 2.3% of the applications lodged in Belarus that year, from 0.4% at the consulates of Italy to 11.2% at those of Lithuania. Poland’s consulates worldwide refused 15.8%. Poland was the 3rd most applied-for Schengen state in Belarus.

You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Belarus, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
