Estonia: visa decisions in Australia
| Year | Applications | Visas issued | Refused | Refusal rate | Multiple-entry share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 55 | 49 | 5 | 9.3% | 26.5% |
| 2024 | 61 | 56 | 4 | 6.7% | 30.4% |
| 2025 | 36 | 34 | 2 | 5.6% | 20.6% |
In 2025, Estonia’s embassy and consulates in Australia (Canberra) received 36 applications for short-stay Schengen visas and issued 34. 5.6% of applications were refused. In 2024 the rate was much the same, 6.7%. Applications fell by 41% compared with 2024 (61).
For comparison, all Schengen states together refused 3.0% of the applications lodged in Australia that year, from 0.6% at the consulates of Switzerland to 8.8% at those of the Netherlands. Estonia’s consulates worldwide refused 24.6%. Estonia was the 18th most applied-for Schengen state in Australia.
You apply to the Schengen state that is your main destination (the longest stay or the main purpose; the state of first entry only when there is none), so a lower rate elsewhere is no reason to apply there. The figures cover applications lodged in Australia, by any nationality: mostly citizens, but also residents from other countries.
