Who should use the eVisa
The eVisa is an alternative to buying a visa at the border. For nationals in the visa-on-arrival category it is optional but useful when you want a multiple-entry visa, which is sold on arrival only to UK, US and Canadian nationals, or prefer to settle the visa before travel. For nationals who must obtain a visa before travel, it is the main route.
Visa options and validity
A single-entry eVisa allows one entry and is valid for one month from issue. A double-entry eVisa allows two entries within three months, and a multiple-entry eVisa allows any number of entries within six months. The KAZA UNIVISA, valid one month, covers multiple countries in the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. You need not enter on the date stated in the application: you may enter on any date within the validity period.
Uploads by purpose of travel
The department publishes short upload lists per purpose. Every application needs a passport photo and a scan of the passport bio-data page plus proof of residence. Holiday applicants add the destination address and, when staying with a resident, the host’s invitation letter and the host’s proof of residence or ID. Business applicants add an invitation letter or business profile, a letter from the sending company and any previous Zimbabwe visa. Conference applicants add the conference invitation letter.

Fees and refunds
The fee table lists USD 30 for an ordinary single-entry eVisa, USD 55 for multiple entry and USD 100 for an emergency visa; separate rates apply to British and Chinese nationals. The final cost is stated in the approval response. The payment covers processing, so it is not refunded if the eVisa is refused, and unused eVisas are not refunded either.
Applying and changes
Start the application on the platform, enter your details exactly as in your passport, upload the requested documents and pay. You receive a confirmation email and later notices by email. An eVisa cannot be amended: if dates change or details do not match your travel document, apply again or contact the immigration office. The eVisa carries a QR code with encrypted data, and you are responsible for keeping your copies safe.

- Complete the form and upload documents at least three weeks before travel.
- Pay online and wait for the email decision.
- Print the eVisa and enter within its validity.
