Seychelles electronic Travel Authorisation
Seychelles Travel Authorisation (Electronic Border System)
In short
Every non-citizen travelling to Seychelles, of any age and on any passport, must hold an approved Travel Authorisation before departure. It is issued through the government's Seychelles Electronic Border System on seychelles.govtas.com or the Seychelles e-Border app, costs EUR 10 for an adult with 24-hour processing, covers a single journey and is required before the Visitor's Permit can be issued on arrival.

Who needs it
Seychelles law requires every non-citizen to complete the Travel Authorisation, whether arriving by air, by boat or on a cruise ship. This includes children and infants, people visiting on business, holders of Seychelles permits such as a Gainful Occupation Permit, Dependant's Permit or permanent residence, and the foreign spouse of a Seychellois citizen. Diplomats and other officials also apply and upload a letter from the host organisation or embassy. Seychellois citizens instead submit a free Disembarkation Information Form.
Fees and processing tiers
The government sets three tiers. For adults: standard processing within 24 hours costs EUR 10, premium within six hours EUR 30 and expedited within 60 minutes EUR 70. For children aged 12 and under the prices are EUR 10, EUR 30 and EUR 30. Bank charges are added and the prices may change. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person, even if the authorisation is refused or the trip changes.
How to apply
Apply only on seychelles.govtas.com or in the official Seychelles e-Border app; the government warns that unauthorised sites charge higher fees. You can apply once your flight or cruise and your accommodation are booked, within 30 days before arrival. The form asks you to scan or upload the passport photo page, take or upload a photo of the traveller, give trip and contact details, answer health and customs questions, upload the ticket showing arrival and departure dates and each accommodation booking, and pay by credit or debit card. Up to six people can be included in one group application.
If something is missing, the system sends an 'action required' email with a link to update the file. Details can be corrected only before submission; an application with errors has to be replaced by a new one, with a new fee. A submitted application cannot be cancelled.
- Book your ticket and accommodation first.
- Within 30 days before arrival, open seychelles.govtas.com or the e-Border app.
- Upload the passport page, photo, booking documents and answer the health and customs questions.
- Choose a processing tier and pay by card.
- Respond quickly to any action-required email.
- Travel once approved and collect the Visitor's Permit at immigration.
On arrival and departure
The authorisation does not replace the Visitor's Permit: immigration issues the permit at the desk after checking your ticket, accommodation and funds. The authorisation is valid for one journey and expires when you leave, so each new trip needs a new application. Visitors do not show it on departure. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is uploaded only by travellers aged 1 to 59 coming from a country where the disease is endemic; a transit of under 12 hours there does not count.
Arriving without approval or after a refusal
Travellers who arrive without an approved authorisation must apply immediately on their own phone or laptop and pay with their own card before passing immigration; the airport accepts neither cash nor card payments, and a penalty fee of EUR 30 applies. If an application is refused, you cannot travel for the moment; the portal directs refused applicants to the Department of Health at visitor@health.gov.sc for details.
Support and departure forms for residents
The system's support team answers on support@govtas.com, on +248 2519717 and through a 24-hour live chat. Citizens, residents and permit holders leaving Seychelles submit the free Embarkation Information Form within seven days before departure.
