How visas for Fiji work

Fiji's Ministry of Immigration administers entry under the Immigration Act 2003 and the Immigration Regulations 2007. Nationals of the countries on the Ministry's visa-exempted list receive a visitor permit on immigration clearance; nationals of other countries need a pre-entry visa applied for through the IMMI HUB portal. Visitors are allowed up to four months, extendable by two months on application and payment of the fee.

Visitors may come for tourism, transit, sport and recreation, visiting relatives or friends, and conferences or meetings. Only people arriving for medical treatment and yacht owners or crew must obtain their permits before arrival. Business visitors from visa-exempt countries may conduct business-related activities for up to 14 days without a permit.

For longer stays the ministry issues seventeen types of entry permit, all lodged online through IMMI HUB: work permits (long-term permits of one to three years and short-term permits), the investor permit for shareholders in a locally registered company with FJD 300,000, student and research permits, and the residence permit on assured income for people aged 45 and over. Most permits carry a base fee of FJD 650.05 for the main applicant and FJD 185.00 per dependant.
