Denmark Fast-Track Scheme and Quick Job Start

Fast-Track Scheme (fast-track-ordningen) for employees of SIRI-certified companies

In short

The Fast-Track Scheme is Denmark’s official priority route for companies certified by SIRI. The employer applies online for you under one of five tracks; decisions normally take 1 month, and with Quick Job Start SIRI usually decides within about 10 days for visa nationals. There is no extra charge: the fee is the standard DKK 6,810.

Steps and documents

Create a case order ID, pay DKK 6,810, sign the power of attorney, and let the employer file online with the contract, passport copy and track-specific documents. Biometrics are compulsory: after submitting online you have 14 days to give fingerprints and a facial photo, at a Danish mission or at the visa application centre that serves your country of residence. If no slot is available in time, tell SIRI the appointment date so the case is not rejected.

  1. Confirm that the employer is on SIRI’s list of certified companies.
  2. Agree on the track and sign a power of attorney.
  3. Pay DKK 6,810 under a case order ID; the employer files online.
  4. Record biometrics at a Danish mission or visa application centre straight away to enable Quick Job Start.
  5. Travel after the decision and register your address for a CPR number.

Quick Job Start

Quick Job Start lets you begin before a normal decision would be ready. Visa-free nationals already able to enter legally can receive a provisional work permit at the earliest the day after the employer applies. Visa nationals (Turkish citizens with ordinary passports, for example) use the second route: SIRI as a rule decides about 10 days after receiving a complete application, provided the employer has supplied all information, the fee is paid and your biometrics have been recorded, for example at a visa application centre. If you already hold a valid Schengen visa you can enter legally right away.

What the scheme offers

Only employers certified by SIRI can use the scheme; SIRI publishes the list of certified companies, and certification takes about 2 months. The employment must fit one of five tracks: the pay limit track (at least DKK 552,000 a year, 2026 level), the supplementary pay limit track (at least DKK 446,000, with the job advert, unemployment and fine conditions of the supplementary scheme), the short-term track (up to 90 days within any rolling 365-day period), the researcher track and the educational track for highly qualified staff who receive or give training in the company.

The employer submits the application online using your power of attorney; if you do not want to grant one, AR1 can be used. Fast-Track holders’ family members are exempt from the lapse rules that apply to other accompanying families.

After arrival and appeals

After arrival you register your Danish address in the Civil Registration System to get a CPR number, at the latest 5 days after moving in, at the municipality or an International Citizen Service centre. The residence card is posted to your CPR address, so put your name on the mailbox. You must not give up your Danish address or stay abroad for more than 6 consecutive months, or the permit lapses. A refusal can be appealed to the Immigration Appeals Board within 8 weeks for DKK 1,040.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fee for faster processing in Denmark?

No. The Fast-Track Scheme uses the normal DKK 6,810 work fee; speed comes from the employer’s certification, not an extra payment.

How fast is Quick Job Start for visa nationals?

As a rule about 10 days after SIRI receives a complete application, once the fee is paid and biometrics are recorded.

Can I use the short-term track for several trips?

Yes, but you may not exceed 90 days within the last 365 days, counted on a rolling basis, and no single stay may exceed 90 consecutive days.

Can I apply myself under Fast-Track?

No. The certified employer handles the application; you can choose AR1 instead of granting power of attorney.
